my name... Shimelle
scrapbook size... a bit of a mix, but mostly 12x12
camera... Canon 30D
music... I don't think I can survive without Sigur Ros every day. REM, The Long Winters, Radiohead, The Beatles, The Cure and Lisa Loeb also make me very happy.
work space... My own personal sweet shop. Lots of pastels and white with a big window that catches the best light in the afternoon. I never really get it as tidy as I want it.
style... Words are the heart of my projects, even if the story seems simple or silly. I love pretty papers but I am really a cut-and-stick girl in my own mind -- I am quite happy to stick one piece of paper to another piece of paper and repeat until I think everything looks finished.
1 or 2 pages... I go in phases! I think I'm in a single page phase at the moment.
color preference... Green in any shade except neon! Love, love, love how it looks with pretty much anything. Pink and red come next, and I am in rediscovering the sparkle of black lately too.
favorite product types... paper and stamps.
childhood ambition... Be an astronaut or own a dance studio.
fondest memory... a beautifully perfect day in the summer of 2006.
retreat... Iceland.
wildest dream... not worrying about day to day stuff like paying bills and cleaning.
biggest challenge... admitting when I need help!
alarm clock... a light-up gadgety thing that keeps me from noticing the seemingly complete lack of sunlight in British winters.
perfect day ... Nothing to worry about. Good food, good company and something pretty to photograph.
first job... Dairy Queen drive-through girl.
indulgence... Cupcakes. Dance class.
last purchase... Sweet potatoes, courgettes and parsnip crisps at our corner shop.
favorite movie... Stranger than Fiction.
inspiration... Going places. Meeting people.
my life ...isn't at all what I expected, but is very, very happy.
