Journaling reads: In this photo I see this great big void of change coming. Its one of those photos you look at and you see the winds of change a coming. Not something that you perhaps notice until it is captured in a photograph, but there, in that photograph- it is still-staring you in the face, almost daring you to look away, saying “face this, look at me, I am growing, changing, and quickly”. I think that in the day to day I am distracted from the changes, for while that wise look I may sometimes see in your eyes, I can quickly glance to your soft cheek and I still see my little girl, the vestiges of your younger years that still take hold of your countenance. In this photo though I see a world of change, a world of events, of action, of study, of self image, of boys, of music, of knowledge, of questions. I see this. And if I told you this, and I let you read this now, you would just smile, and sweetly say “Mom”,as if to reassure me, and then I would know that you are still just a little girl , for just a little longer. Growing up on the outside just a bit faster than on the inside. My own little innocent, summer of 2005.
