This is a simple, one hour or more project. This could even be done as a project for children---a great little vacation remembrance booklet, something to take along while traveling, a little family photo booklet for a backpack on a first week of school, a gift for a friend---a lot of great ideas!
Supplies Needed:
Photos- 4x6 are easiest. Grab a stack that relate to the theme you are working with, you will have extras, as some won't fit on the tags or they just don't work in the end. Its better to have more than you need than not enough.
Tags, Frames, Quotes, Title Die Cuts: These ones are from My Minds Eye, the Kaleidoscope collection. You could also use their Wild Asparagus Collection if you are desiring a more soft look.
Adhesives, a scissors, trimmer, hole punch, pens, letter stickers, a metal ring (or ribbon or string or ball chain), tabs and any other embellishment you wish to use.
Steps:
1. Select the pieces you wish to use, the titles, die cuts and frames you wish to use for the theme of your booklet.
2. Select the photos for each die cut. Choices should be made with the size of the image in relation to the size of the die cut. Make sure the subject of your photo fits onto the back of the die cut.
3. Trim the photo to fit onto the back of the die cut. if its a circle, Lay the circle die cut on the photo, to figure out the placement. Either trace the circle onto the photo or hold on to it while trimming away the excess photo.
4. Adhere the photos to the back of the die cuts.
5. For the frames: trim the photos, and adhere the frame to the top of the photo. Place two framed photos back to back and adhere together to create a double sided frame tag.
6. Punch holes in the die cuts where desired. In this sample, some of the holes were punched off center along the top, so that they might hang askew, to create a more interesting booklet. You can however, punch them all at the top center so that it is less bulky if you wish to put this booklet into a backpack or other bag.
7. Add whatever journaling or writing you desire. Tabs, letter stickers, chipboards, tapes or anything else desired.
8. Journal on the back of the title die cut by first adhering a plain cardstock or paper to the back of the die cut. This covers up the UPC code and company information on the back of the die cut.
9. Place all die cut tags on the ring in the order you desire.
10. Add a strip of tape or ribbon to the ring as desired. |
