Chillin'
By Joanna Bolick

My favorite thing about summer? The looooooong evenings accompanied by the glow of the setting sun in our backyard. Mmmm, talk about scrumptious lighting for photos! So anyway, this layout is about how we love to spend our evenings in the backyard just hanging out together, and the photos feature just a hint of that glow I'm talking about.

Supplies:
Chatterbox papers and woodcut rub-on
Foofala Hall pass rub-ons
Sassafrass Lass patterned paper
yellow and blue cardstock
American Crafts stickers and rub-ons
Narratives patterned paper
Hambly patterned vellum
Line 'em up digi kit
7Gypsies days & seasons stamp

Directions:
1. Trim two 12" x .5" lengths of the Chatterbox scarlet summer dots paper.
2. Turn the remaining section of this paper over, and then attach the dotted strips to the left-hand side and bottom of the page in order to form a 12 x 12 page. (I used an additional lighweight sheet of 12 x 12 paper in order to assemble my background.)
3. Trim the Sassafrass Lass buttercup paper down to 11" x 11", then lightly tear the upper left-hand corner as well as the bottom right-hand portion.
4. Add a strip of blue cardstock above and a strip of yellow cardstock below the buttercup paper.
5. Print out 5 2.5" x 4" vertical photos.
6. Attach a small section of the Hambly vellum to form a matte behind the photos, then adhere the 5 photos.
7. Attach a 5" x 4.5" section of the Chatterbox Olive Summer Flowers paper beside the photos after crumpling the edges of the paper.
8. After rubbing the Chatterbox woodcut rub-on to a piece of notebook paper, attach to the lower right-hand corner of the Olive Summer Flowers paper. 9. Then overlap the rub-on and patterned paper with 6 strips of yellow cardstock.
10. Add letters stickers, leaving the center 2 strips open in order to adhere the rub-on portion of the title.
11. Print out a small section from the fully-lined piece of paper from the Line 'Em Up digi kit. Cut into small strips to fit below the photos.
12. Add handwritten journaling to Narratives paper and to the small strips below the photos.
