The summer's coming to an end and do you know what that means? It's time to start scrapping all
your summer photos!
Scrapping photos is always easier when you've got embellishments that fit with the theme. For this
Make & Take, I'll be creating tags inspired by traditional postcards. Use these tags
as journaling pieces to document your summer activities. Utilize their versatility by incorporating
them into a tag booklet or as an embellishment on a scrapbook layout.
STEPS Note: Follow these first two steps for all tags. 1. First, take a large, circular stamp and stamp on cardstock. For each tag, use a
different color ink. Cut out your tag. (The circle stamp used here simply creates a border for the
tag. You can use decorative-edged scissors or other shaped stamps to create a similar look.)
2. Next, apply an image rub-on border to tag, dividing it in half. This mimics the
divided sides you see in traditional postcards.
3. Attach ribbon/twine to the top of your tag.
Happy Times Tag 4. Apple alphabet rub-ons/phrase rub-ons towards the bottom half of the right side of the
tag. Go ahead and layer your rub-ons together depending on the space available.
5. Apply the postmark image rub-on above your title, and then use number stickers for your date.
Fun Times Tag 6. Use various size alphabet stickers for the title for this tag. Alternate the placement of the stickers so that they stagger. (The stickers here follow the flow of the circular tag.)
7. Apply the postmark image rub-on over your title.
Laugh Tag 8. Embellish a die-cut with image rub-ons then adhere it to the right side of the tag.
9. Apply the postmark image rub-on over the die-cut.
You're now ready to add the tag to your layout. Continue on to learn how to add photos to create
a tag booklet.
10. Take your photos (the photo size will be dependent on the size of the tag) and turn
them upside down. Trace your tag on the back of the photo. When finished, use fine-edged scissors
to cut out your photo.
11. Use strong adhesive to attach the back of your photo to the back of the tag. Make
sure to hide the ribbon/twine behind the photo when attaching.
12. Clean up our tag by trimming any excess from the cardstock or the photo. Now you're
ready to add this tag to your booklet.
Though the summer's ending, the fun is just beginning. Enjoy making these postcard inspired tags
