Make & Take: Kindergarten (storing stuff + first day of school layout)

This is my first make & take ... and my pictures turned out HORRIBLY. So bear with me, please!
SUPPLIES:
Page protectors, staples, kraft and red cardstock, Imagination Project coaster letters, American Crafts and Sassafrass Lass patterned paper, 7 Gypsies rubons, metal tag, Heidi Swapp hearts.
STEPS:
1. Gather your supplies.
2. Trim one sheet of the kraft cardstock to 11.5 inches so that there is some extra room in the page protector after you add the art. Staple the page protectors to the cardstock. Make sure you staple the one that is furthest "left" first - otherwise, you can't reach the edge without staple over the other page protectors.
3. Fold the red cardstock over the edge of the page protector covered cardstock. This will be the "cover" of the folder over the art and papers. I decorated the inside of my folder with Noah's school picture, some facts about his school and his schedule, and some Q&A's that we did today. Glue the flap on the backside. Now your art storage is assembled and ready to fill!
4. Lay out the pictures. I ended up resizing my pictures to make them bigger as I finished up the layout.
5. Add the title with coaster letters. I cut around letter stickers to make the word "art" - love American Crafts paper! I mounted the word "art" on Sassafrass paper and outlined the words.
6. From there, embellish. I added American Crafts paper to make little tabs on the page protectors, 7G's rubons around the photos, etc. I also had Noah write his name on a piece of the Sassafrass Lass paper and added that to a 7G's tag. The final touch was some Heidi Swapp hearts and some paper clips ... and, of course, some papers from school.
I hope this is all clear. It is a pretty simple storage system, and I'm hoping that it will help me keep track of all Noah's papers and projects as the year goes on. Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for looking! |
