October Garden Newsletter :: Today We Are
By Laura Kurz
Thanks for looking!
I like to do “Today We Are” pages every once in awhile to write down things I don’t necessarily think I’ll scrapbook on another page.
Journaling: “Working at St. Paul’s…Working somewhere we can’t say…Looking forward to our friend’s Carron and Ben’s wedding this weekend…Looking forward to Thanksgiving at our house…Enjoying our brand-spanking new kitchen…Already looking for Christmas cards and present ideas…Playing with our finally healthy puppy, Charmer…Coaching cross country at St. Paul’s…Wearing civilian clothes (and loving the dry cleaning bills)…Deciding on where to go celebrate Ken’s 30th birthday in February…Playing lots of Sodoku…Hoping this is Brett’s last round of chemo…Still decorating…In love…October 11, 2006…”
Supplies: Cardstock – Bazzill
Vintage circle stamp – Fontwerks
Large alpha rub ons – 7 Gypsies
Small alpha rub ons – American Crafts
Circle rub ons – Fontwerks
Font – Garamond
Steps : 1. Write journaling using computer software. I made mine the same width as the stamp and then centered it where I wanted it on the page and printed
2. Align circle stamp on top of journaling and stamp. I blotted the first coat of ink on a scrap piece of paper so I could get a ghosted look for the stamp
3. Rub on “today,” centering it in middle of circle stamp
4. Rub on “we are,” centering it under “today,” leaving space for a drawn line
5. Sketch line with pencil and then trace over with fine-point pen
6. Rub on circles to end of lines
7. I finished off this page inking around the edges (hard to see on the scan!)
