Seasonal layout: Typical Boy
By Jen Lessinger

A quick and easy hybrid layout about Griffin and his love of flashlights. This one is a Halloween flashlight that my mom gave him, and he's been playing with it for DAYS.

Journaling reads: It is completely amazing how much enjoyment one simple flashlight can bring to a little boy. (bottom) Griffin, with the flashlight from Grandma Judy - October 2006 - hour 156 of enjoyment.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Create the basic layout in PS CS2 - size your photos, place them on a canvas, and add the text.
2. Add the embellishment in the empty space (this one is from my Skull.DIGI.ry kit).
3. Add an arrow and the title. The title could just as easily be done with letter stickers at the end - another option.
4. Open the digital paper. I used Traci's Spooky Polka Dot. But because I wanted a bit smaller patter, I resized the jpeg to 6x6, then layered 4 sheets on my 12x12 background. I also adjusted my colors a bit ... made them a little more muted using the "levels" function of PS CS2.
5. Print the digital layout. I actually printed my photos separately, because I printed the layout (without the photos) on textured cardstock.
6. Trim the arrow with an exacto knife so you can slide ribbon under it.
7. Add the photos and ribbon, and any other embellishment you'd like. I stapled the ribbon, and used brads to attach the HS ghost letter (not to state the obvious or anything).

SUPPLIES: Patterned paper: 2peas Spooky (digital kit); font: 2peas Airplane (journaling) and Helvetica; ribbon: American Crafts; ghost letter: Heidi Swapp; rubons: 7 Gypsies; skull: 2peas Skull.DIGI.ry (digital kit); arrow: 2peas What's Your Point; cardstock: Bazzil.
