| My middle son Spencer started high school this year. I've noticed lately that whenever I ask him who he ate lunch with or hung out with at school, there is always a girl (often the same one) in the small group. He has also grown (he's just shy of 6 ft) and is asking for contacts and when he's going to get his braces off. He's had girls over in the past, but pretty much treated them like he does his guy friends. I sense the tides of change coming in that area.
The journaling reads: "Since starting high school, I've noticed you've become more self-assured and even have a touch of a teenage swagger. You've gotten quite good looking too, and have developed a witty sense of humor. I know that girls are on the horizon and I'll try not to freak out and embarrass you...I really will try!"
One of the items I used on this layout that doesn't appear below is the border that is around this layout. It is in a new digi kit called "Borderlines 2 - Funky Town."
1. Open the 8.5 x 11 inch striped border in the 2 Peas Borderlines2 kit and print it out on a piece of white cardstock.
2. Draw out a big heart on the back of the red KI paper and cut out. Glue on pieces of black scalloped and white line scalloped paper to the top of the heart and trim them to fit the shape of the heart. Ink around the edges of the heart in black ink and journal on the white lined paper.
3. Cut a piece of black Style Avenue Crate Paper and glue it down to the white cardstock. Add your photo.
4. Add the KI Wild Thing chipboard letters. Glue the heart to the left side of the photo.
5. Add buttons across the heart and stitch down with white, black and linen thread.
6. Add a KI Wild Things polka dot tab to the top of the photo and stitch on with three cross-stitches.
7. Add three pieces of ribbon to the top right hand corner of the layout and staple on.
8. Draw lines around the Crate paper piece and dots along the left hand side of the heart. Draw stripes around the polka dot tab to make it stand out more. |
