Seasonal Layouts : Winter Gloves

..nope, I wouldn't win a prize for best mom.. :-p ..in my defense, we hardly ever went outside during the winter prior to that point.. frankly, I wouldn't have gloves either except that I received a pair for Christmas a few years ago.. ok, part of it is also that I'm really not keen on shopping.. ..anyway, I've made up for lost time---he now has 3 pairs of gloves.. ;-)
Instructions:
1. Begin with a new 17x11" canvas (File>New>enter dimensions---this is a 2-page 8.5x11" layout). Insert a shape (Insert>Shapes>select the square), leave the outline and change the color to suit the layout, and then enlarge it to fit the entire background (Format>Resize Object To Fit Canvas>Stretch To Fit).
2. Add photos (Insert>Pictures>From My Computer), resize/crop if necessary, and arrange. Insert more square shapes and resize them to create a blocklike framework around the photos.
3. Add text boxes for journaling and title words---size & arrange the text to fit into the blocked framework of shapes & photos.
4. Select each shape and "fill" with the SweetWaves paper from the Blackened Sugar kit (Effects>Fill With Texture Or Color>Picture). Actually, I selected the strip to the left and filled it, then selected the other 3 shapes (grouped together) and filled those all at the same time, which is why the pp lines up so perfectly... :-) ..I also changed the color of the paper (Effects>Change Hue>use the sliders to adjust).
5. Open the Joy 2 The World kit and select a few of the epoxy snowflakes to resize/arrange on the layout. I altered the color slightly on each of them.
6. Go back to the Blackened Sugar kit and insert the set of sequins onto the canvas. Use the Marquee tool to select the silver sequin, and then invert the selection & delete the excess sequins. Copy/paste the silver sequin and resize/arrange to your liking. Add drop-shadows where appropriate.
Supplies:
Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 (instructions will work for DIP, but some tools & tool locations may vary slightly)
