Seasonal Layouts : "i craft" mini-album
By Tia Bennett

Being that it is National Craft Month, I wanted to do something to celebrate the way crafts tend to permeate my life. Taking a few minutes, I roamed around my house looking for things I'd crafted on my own...things that surrounded me on a daily basis and affected me and my environment. Plain things. Happy things. MY things.

After I'd collected the images, I printed several of them and made this mini book. It was really an eye-opener to discover all the things that a simple hobby like crafting teaches me on a daily basis. I didn't realize it. I'd never really THOUGHT about it like that before! It was really cool to discover. I even left a bunch of blank pages in the back so that I could add more as they popped up. In that vein, I made sure to keep the album format simple and do-able; focusing on the photos and their stories/lessons rather than any fancy designs or embellishments.

Supplies:

___8x8 album (i chose the KI Memories felt one, but linked many below for reference for you!)
___letter stickers
___patterned papers complimenting your photos
___journaling labels and tags
___wool/felt scraps
___kraft cardstock

Instructions:

1. Cut 8x8 kraft-colored cardstock backgrounds.
2. Working one spread (2 facing pages) at a time, affix photo, complimentary patterned paper, sticker title, and journaling to each spread in a relatively congruent way. Choose one or two layout designs per each photo configuration (landscape or portrait) and stick to those for the whole book. Also try to stick to one or two letter sticker shapes or colors, as well. This will aid in the uniformity of the book, while still allowing for individual color play within each page spread.
3. Slip finished pages into page protectors and add a pattern paper to the inside cover of the album. Choose a paper that unifies the album color with the pages inside; something you find beautiful and inspiring!
4. Add title and embellisments to front cover of album. I chose to remove the photo protector from the front cover and glue in a little heart I needle felted out of dyed wool. I also strung a piece of complimenting wool along the bottom of my felt title stickers and glued it down with a wet adhesive. I just really liked the textural feel of the cover, and therefore chose to only use fuzzy embellishments. You don't have to be so "fluffy" if you don't want to! lol
