I added the text to the photo in Photoshop and simply used the move tool to rotate the phrases and place them where I wanted them. I used the wavy lines of the sparkler as my guide for the text, so although it may look a little bumpy it was actually typed in a straight line.
Supplies:
patterned papers that incorporate yellow, white, and blue (and stars, too!)
rub-on alphas and phrases
chipboard shapes
assorted stickers
Directions:
For the photo:
1. Open your photo in Photoshop. I use Photoshop CS.
2. After resizing as desired (the photo on this layout is 8" x 10") create a new text layer. Choose the type, size, and color of text you desire (I used a bright yellow, and the font is marginal). Use the horizontal type tool to type your text.
3. Now go to Edit > Free Transform OR use the move tool from your palette to rotate your text as desired and to move it into position on your photo.
For the layout:
1. The brown KI paper serves as your base for this layout.
2. Trim the Sassafrass Lass paper down to 4" x 11.5."
3. Adhere the SL paper so that it is slightly inside the brown paper on the left-hand side of your page. Fold over the top left-hand corner of the SL paper before adhering.
4. Trim the KI star paper to the same width as your photo and adhere beside the SL paper.
5. Adhere a small strip of yellow KI paper beside the KI star paper so that it is just inside the right-hand side of the page.
6. Adhere photo.
7. Apply Hambly rub-on, write journaling, and add small rub-on phrases and other embellishments.
8. Add the yellow/blue grid paper with title "America."
9. Add chipboard elements and apply rub-on phrases on top of them.
10. Finally, tear Narratives label in two pieces as adhere to represent rockets or firecrackers or whatever you want them to be.
