Themed Projects :: Grow
By Laura Kurz

Thanks for looking!

I love the Snap Shot Elements by Rhonna. I thought they would really be great to frame the picture of my tulip bulbs blooming away! On this page, I wanted to make the top patterned paper-heavy to give the feeling of the flowers blooming. After I finished, I realized this looks similar to a layout I did for last month, but different in its own way :)

Supplies:
Patterned paper – Scenic Route, Basic Grey, Sassafras Lass
Chipboard letters – Heidi Swapp
Swirl rub on – Basic Grey
Font – Splendid 66
Negative Frame – Snap Shots Elements by Rhonna Farrer

Journaling reads: “Finally. A home with planting beds and southern exposure. They peaked out this weekend and in doing so said, ‘Hope. Dream. Wake up. Winter is over.’ All in one breath. I come home every day and survey. This one grew a good two inches today. Three more new ones popped up. Grow.”

Steps:
1. Open your photo in photoshop or another photo editing software program and resize it to 4x6
2. Open up the photo frame .png file in photoshop or another photo editing software program
3. Drag the photo onto the .png file and arrange the layer to send the photo to the back. Print!
4. Type out journaling and determine where you’d like it to appear on an 8.5x11 piece of paper (mine is about 5.5 inches from the left and aligned left). Print this on the Scenic Route background paper
5. Adhere floral patterned paper to the top 2/3 of 8.5x11 piece of cardstock. Cut ½ inch strip of striped Sassafras Lass paper and adhere to bottom of floral paper
6. Adhere photo to paper – I made mine equidistant from the left side and the bottom
7. Adhere chipboard letters, overlapping slightly on the end from the photo to the patterned paper
8. Apply basic grey swirl rub on below chipboard alphas (this is difficult to see in my scan – sorry!)
