My daughter, Madisyn and her Grami don't get to see eachother very often since they don't live near eachother. So when I found this photo of them together on my computer, I wanted to create a page about their special friendship and relationship.
I LOVE the theme for the month of October...paper piecing! I had so much fun playing with papers and shapes/patterns/images this month. For this page, I took a great flower pattern that I found on the blog of Sandi Henderson, who is a fabric designer. She created this beautiful pattern for applique work and I thought it would be so fun to take the same flower/pattern...and use it on a scrapbook page with paper.
I minimized the flower 3 different times to get three different sizes of the pattern. I printed them off and then began cutting out the petals in all different materials...I used the lovely patterned papers from Heather Bailey for Autumn Leaves, Lime chipboard from Creative Cafe, silver metallic paper, cork, text paper and acetate. The background is brown cardstock and some vellum to help add a touch of softness to the page.
I then had fun assembling the flowers and adding brads, flowers and felt circles to the centers of the flowers.
Thanks for looking! :)
