Seasonal Layouts : {waiting outside}
By Jan Crowley
I loved this photo of Norah. Her sisters were already playing outside...having speedily gotten dressed and here was Norah...the littlest one, still trying to get her wellies on, with tons of fluffy white snow waiting for her outside. I thought it was really sweet.
For my layout, I really wanted to use one of the snowy photos I took, but I still wanted to maintain a "single photo" feel to the layout. So I decided to make my snowy photo part of my background paper. I enlarged it and set the opacity to 50% and then placed a distressed solid white paper underneath it. Then I added a snowflake overlay to the photo and made it a very light pink and set the opacity to 70%. Then I added a strip of pink paper to the right side and a skinny strip of black and white herringbone paper under the photo. I added my journaling and a snowflake photo edge to my photo and then created "journaling lines" using stitches. For the final touch, I added a custom alpha and the date. Easy peasy! :)
