When I went to sit down and go through photos to use for this month's June layout, I found that I didn't take a ton of photos last June (I am doing my layouts all of the year of 2008). So, I created a layout with some of my favorite photos of the month and included a tag of journaling behing the layout.
So, as your creating this layout, take a look at the photos that you have taken...or if your doing it for this month, June 2009, take lots of photos! :) :) Depending on how many photos you want to include, take a look back at our classes to take and use one of the multiple photo techniques from one of those months...consider it a refresher! :) You can sew one of your photos on the left/bottom/right sides to create a pocket and put more photos inside. You can create a small flip book with your photos...you can do some photo strips or a photo collage...whatever you'd like.
My layout was totally inspired by the awesome journaling tag notebook that was recently added to the store by Anna Griffin. It is beautiful! I used 3 tags as embellishments on the page - lots of fun layering with ribbon, stamping and flowers. I cut out some of the butterflies from the tags and used them around the page. For my photos, I printed 4 photos, each 3.75" x 3.75" and then placed a label tag over the top (to use as a cutting template) and cut out my photos so that they matched the tags.
For my journaling, I just put some personal notes about the month on a tag that pulls up on the bag of the page (it is tied onto the twine that is looped over the top of the layout on the left). Feel free to add your journaling on a label notecard or a journaling spot on your layout.
If you do not have the journaling notecards from Anna Griffin that I used...no problem. You can cut circles, squares, scalloped shapes, use dies with your paper to cut labels, use your Silhouette or electronic die-cutting machine to cut out labels...whatever you have or that inspires you. This layout is just a collection of my favorite photos from the month, but you can interpret that any way you'd like.
So, to get started, go here to download the PDF with supplies, step-by-step instructions and additional photos. Please join me on the Education Forum to chat about the class too! If you want to participate in the drawing this month for a gift certificate to the store, be sure to upload your project to the gallery by the end of July 19th and check the box for this class.
I can't wait to see your projects for this month! Everything you have all done has been amazing thus far! Have a great month and have fun creating! Hugs, Robyn Werlich
