Classes : Make Mine Mini - Week 3 (7 Gypsies Album/Friends)
By Lisa McGarvey
I realize that mini albums can be very daunting for some people. They were for me at first too. But around 5 or 6 years ago I took a class by Tracy Kyle using a tag mini album by 7 gypsies and I realized that once you start one they're actually very fun, easy and gratifying to make.
Ive always been a fan of the 7 gypsies albums - probably because there is such a variety to choose from and their samples are stunning. They should make a idea book of all the samples their designers make because they blow my mind every time. One thing that has always freaked me out a bit with mini books is the binding. Ive experimented a little with various bindings, but this latest one by 7 gyspies is by far the easiest one Ive ever used. Seven gypsies came up with these beautifully designed book covers and you can fill anything in it and use book rings to bind them. Super easy. They also designed many neat products to use with this album system: transparancies, heavy chipboard pages and neat dangle charms.
I think one of the funnest things for me to do with this album was use all the knickity knackity details that are hanging off the pages. I love the new dangles that 7 gypsies came out this year. The clasp on them makes them super easy to use and those colorful crystal beads add wonderful detail to my album. I enjoyed adding my own charms to those dangles and doing so was pretty simple. In the pdf I'll focus on what details I used and how I made them. It was all very basic and easy.
