Themed Project : Sisters Mini Album
By Kristina Nicolai-White

I have always loved this little envelope mini album. I want to stack about 10 of them up and create them for everything I can imagine. I collect a lot of memorabilia. Ticket stubs from everything... movies ( i just slip them into my pocket, find them later and am glad I kept those), concerts, plays and shows, airline ticket stubs, parking for events, everything. Sometimes I feel like I collect a lot of junk. I just shove it all into a jar. and occasionally marvel at all the things we do in our lives. You would think by me telling you this that I never throw anything away. This is furthest from the truth. I throw away too much, and my kids get upset by all the items they have brought home from school that do end up the garbage. oops.

But I do enjoy collecting these little items. They say so much about our lives. And this little album with perfect for this.

I would love to do one for our recent trip to Germany. I have so many little stubs from all the places we visited. Pieces of our trip that I can throw into those little envelopes. Even if I didn't keep the envelopes in this particular mini album... they are a perfect and fun size, with an irregular flap for each. They have a 2 hole punch on the short side, so really, you could tie them or bind them into any other mini album if you wanted.

For this album, I used only the Girl Friday Collection from Cosmo Cricket. I didn't allow myself to use anything else. And with all of the border and card type papers that are in the collection, you don't really need too much else for embellishments. The chipboard and stickers and papers are enough.

This album is dedicated to my 2 daughters who are only 2 years apart, and share a room in our house. They are not just sisters, they are also best friends in many ways. And this documents that relationship. There are only 4 photos in the whole album. I think I will add some photo strips to the envelopes, under each of the 4 subjects that I put in here. As well as many little notes and other bits that I find around all the time. Notes they wrote to each other, or other evidence that they are friends as well as sisters.

I used the Kokuyo Adhesive on the backs of each pattern paper before I adhered it to the chipboard page. If you put the adhesive on the chipboard, it will threaten to rip off the top layer of chipboard.

I trimmed a lot of pieces within the papers and stickers to suit my needs in this album. The labels, words, borders and what-not are usually parts and pieces that I just cut up from the papers. The little thought bubbles and talk bubbles are just label pieces that I trimmed around instead of kept at their intended square/rectangular shape. The borders are mostly also pieces of the cards and borders that are on the papers and I just cut and treated them as though they were stickers. I just had a lot of fun cutting apart all of the bits and pieces on the papers.
