New Product Focus : Layered Quickutz Shaped Dies: Gift Bags
By Jennifer McGuire

Vote for this project

Quickutz makes my favorite die shapes.  They create such sharp, detailed images that are fun to play with.

One of my favorite things to do with the die cut shapes is to layer them.  For the butterflies here, I just cut 8 or so of the same shape from the same paper.  I then layered them together - just putting adhesive only around the center.  I then rolled up a mini glue dot and put them between each layer in the wings, forcing them to spread out and add dimension.  It works great and is easy to do.  For added impact, you could mix colors of die cuts.

To make the bodies of the butterflies look finished, I added some Glossy Accents.  The antennea is from wire glue dotted to the back of the butterflies.

I made these bags using scraps for my son's teachers.  I purchased the bags for a low price at Target. They have cookies inside. :)
