Seasonal Layouts : This Year
By Jen Martakis

For this month's Seasonal layout we were asked to create a layout for the New Year. My first thought was to make one about resolutions and the like. I then sat down to think about what my goals for this year were. One of the biggest things that kept coming to mind was that I really hope that my youngest son will make wonderful progress with his speech throughout the year. He has a severe speech delay and it's been hard trying to communicate with an almost 3 year old who has a hard time letting us know what he wants.

The journaling on my layout reads:
This year I have high hopes for your speech progress. You wil be three years old this February and will be going to "big boy" school. I know that I will have a hard time letting you go for part of the day. It's just been you and I during the day for the last few years and I am going to miss my little buddy like crazy. At the same time I am very excited for you to get the help with your speech that you really need. You have been getting in-home therapy once a week for an hour for the past year. It has made a huge difference in the way you are able to communicate with us.  You have learned  to say many new words and can use sign language for       many others. I can't wait to see what this year will hold for you.

Supplies: Jen Martakis - Simple Starts No. 10, January, & This Year Alpha. Font - Autumn Leaves - Modern Type.
