Creating Your Own Patterned Paper Background
October Class Description:
Once again it’s all about PATTERNED PAPER! This time we are making our own background out of several patterned papers, not just one like we did in April. We’ll take what we’ve learned about combining patterns in July and September and have a little fun.
Creating your own patterned paper background is all about portion control. For the most part you wouldn’t want the same amount of each paper, choose 2-3 base papers and 2-3 accent papers. You can see I chose a paper that had a large scalloped edge. This keeps the background from being too straight. If your paper doesn’t have a scalloped edge try using border punches or cut your own scallop. Another little trick is to cover those seams. Use skinny strips of paper, ribbon, trim, border stickers, etc. Layers and texture can make your background come alive!...
