Newsletter Layouts : (Amy Butler) Snow on Easter?
By Joanna Bolick

I love Amy Butler fabrics, so to be able to play with her patterns on paper is truly a treat! I guess her products gave me a little push to play more than I usually do with my pages. So I consider this an experiment...a "trying on" of someone else's style (ala Kelli Crowe) to see if I can push myself out of my comfort zone. So thank you, Amy and Kelli, for doing what you do best and inspiring me! There is nothin' better than pretty papers and inspiration when you're in a self-proclaimed rut.

Anyhoo, supplies:
Amy Butler papers
circle punch
polka dot mask
pink paint
sticker alphas
journaling label
white sequins

Directions:
1. Get stuck in rut. Ignore huge mess on table and open up box of new papers. Ignore projects and play with new papers.
2. Use the Heidi Swapp polka dot mask to add pink "snowflakes" to the top of the Bele Acanthus pp.
3. Trim the Belle Green Henna paper using a wavy cut to create a "bank" for your page.
4. Hand cut tulip, leaves, and stem. Ink for dimension.
5. Tear corner of Acanthus paper, then adhere to blue (Belle Royal Garden) patterned paper.
6. Adhere embankment, main photo, and handcut tulip.
7. Add title.
8. Add snowflakes of various sizes (punched blue circles, white sequins.)
9. Add small photos (1.5" x 2" each).
10. Add journaling label and handwrite journaling except for the bottom line, which was created using American Crafts rub-ons.

Journaling reads:
"We woke up to snow on the day before Easter -- more accumulation that we'd had all year! As my educated husband says, 'that ain't right!'"
