Sandra brought home this really cool promo piece from her job the other day, and I immediately wanted to replicate it with photos... I'm planning on sending it to my sister as a "Spring" card, because it folds down flat, but the rubber band inside makes it "pop" into a ball as soon as you take it out of the envelope...
Trace template onto heavy cardstock. Score along fold lines, but don't glue yet. We need to decorate it.
Use InDesign to draw shapes for gluing onto the box.
Import papers, photos and embellishments into the content boxes and print onto textured cardstock.
Spray the back of all cut out items with spray mount and adhere to the panels on the box.
Place adhesive on flaps of box (double-sided tape works well) and assemble, leaving flaps with "hooks" until the end.
String rubber band from one hook to the other, and adhere flaps.
Box will now pop open and closed. Press flat and put into a square envelope for mailing.
