Cole's 4th birthday - he wanted a Dora ice cream cake but he decided on a Spiderman one at the last minute. That's the main thing I remember... : )
The idea behind the design: I wanted this design to look like I'd torn a page directly out of my journal and added it to the page. Hence, the ledger paper from a Target notebook with the torn bits on the edges. Since this was an intentional idea, though, there's no actual pertinent journaling behind the portion of the page that is covered by the large number "4" and the label. (The little sticker to the right side of the "4" says "candles" on it.) I created my own woppy-jawed circles (a la Annie Weis) using a craft knife and teal Bazzill, and the black rub-ons for the "happy birthday" lyrics were easy to apply even over various layers. I wanted the page to be fun and casual, just like Cole.
