Guest Garden Girl

Each month, we select one community member to join our famous Garden Girl Design Team for a month. Our Guest Garden Girl is asked to participate in the Designer Garden and have her work showcased alongside our design team. Like a Garden Girl, she is asked to contribute layouts interpreting the monthly theme, may be assigned special products to use on her projects, as well as receive a special package of goodies and suprises. Seeing how each new Guest Garden Girl interprets the monthly Garden theme is always a treat. The Guest Garden Girl achievement is recognized each month with a special merit badge, displayed in her Member profile, made just for her noting the month of her participation.

One of the most popular features at Two Peas in a Bucket, the Guest Garden Girl program truly shows how creative our community is.

November Guest Garden Girl: gluestickgirl...
i carry your heart **ggg nov 08**
i've had this quote by ee cummings earmarked to use on a page for a while. ever since school started, i've definitely had to accept that my biggest and middlest's lives aren't *MINE* anymore.. i thought this picture from our trip to get pumpkins was a good illustration of that. i wanted them to have a reminder that they will always have my heart, and i will always carry theirs as well.

loving the ki sheers, not loving trying to get a good pic of a layout made on one. ;) AND. i used the cutest digi kit ever. i changed the color on the trees slightly, and then printed the trees in different sizes on ledger paper and cut them out. i added the little birdie to one, too. the owl is also printed on ledger paper and then i used a circle punch to cut him out.

family mini album **ggg nov 08**
i bought this ki memories felt album quite a while ago, thinking it would be fun to do a little family mini for sammy. when i found out the garden theme was family, i knew this would be one of my projects. i made a page for each person mixed in w/ extra snapshots of sam with each of us. he's been carrying it around since i finished. he likes to turn the pages and point at each person and say their name. so sweet. =) some of these photos were taken by becky novacek - the one of me, the one of me with sam, the shot of the whole family, and the ones of alex with sam & ben with sam.
similarities **ggg 11.08**
my littlest looks startlingly like my brother. it's kinda freaky at times. the new mm paperie is *gorgeous* in person.. i mixed it w/ some fancy pants fall on this page. the black little letter stickers are sold out so i'm linking you to the brown ones.. i have these in every color and love them. =)

i just have to say a BIG thank you to 2peas for letting me play along with the garden girls this month... it's a huge honor and it has been so much fun to work with this theme. i've had these pics printed for quite a while and am glad to finally have the perfect page for them. =) this is a story that i really wanted in alex's book - i love these pictures and the bond that my littlest and biggest have. =)
give thanks **ggg nov 08**
i loved the box that the mm falala embellishments came in, and thought it would make a perfect shadowbox frame / keepsake box. i added pics of my boys to the cover and decorated the inside squares. i made a set of tags with each of our names on them - at thanksgiving, we'll all write something we're thankful for on them.
he held your brothers and talked to them **ggg nov 08**
this page was hard to do, but i'm glad that i did. my grandfather died when i was 11 weeks pregnant with sam. i am thankful that he got to hear that we were expecting baby #3, but it breaks my heart that he didn't get to meet sam. they would have liked one another. =) i wanted to keep this layout fairly simple and loved the impact that the blue patterned paper had.
everyday **ggg nov 08**
when i first decided to do a gratitude album, i was going to use more thanksgiving-y colors. but with three boys, i scrap with those colors all.the.time and saw this as my chance to do something pretty and a bit girly. i started with the maya road chipboard album and then added pages made from a hambly overlay in between them. love the peek a boo effect with the windows and the transparency. i painted the chipboard aqua and added some stamping and bits of patterned paper, and then maching stitched around the edges of the chipboard. i stamped the birdies on the album and then again on yellow paper - i cut the bodies out of the images stamped on yellow paper and layered them over the image stamped on the album.
we have you **ggg nov 08**
as i was going through my thanksgiving photos from 2007, i was struck by how much can change in just one year. at thanksgiving 2006 we decided it wasn't the right time to add to our family. but, um, we decided that a little too late. ;) at thanksgiving 2007, we had this sweet little 4 month old that we couldn't (and still can't!) imagine life without. i started this layout w/ a piece of hambly overlay leftover from my everyday album, and built around that. i masked off and stamped just bits and pieces from the autumn leaves border set and colored the scallops in with watercolor pencils for a bit of color around the outside.
