In case the Tiny URL above doesnt work for you, here is the direct link to Walmart's Postcard Printing service:
I'd like to share one more bit of information with those that will create & mail postcards instead of the traditional card/envelope tradition. Photographs direct through the mail dont fare well, as I found out, then someone told me about WALMARTs POSTCARD PRINTING service. I have used it and reccomend it BUT be sure to leave 1/8 white space all around your 4x6 canvas, otherwise the edges of your card WILL get cut off during printing (you may want to have them print 1 postcard only first, as proof, then the whole dozen)
You can read more about the postcard printing service here:
Good luck and Happy Holidays!
(I would like to post this some place where this idea will get more traffic - please let me know where that might be & I'll will gladly do it)
Event Lesson - Holiday Cardmaking Weekends: New Years Postcard
by Erica Hernandez
Postcards are a great alternative to the traditional holiday card. Inexpensive to mail, easy to have printed in traditional photo sizes and fun to design!
According to USPS postal regulations, postcards must be a rectangle (sorry, no fun square designs for this!) and be between 3.5x5“ and 4.25x6” in size (4x6"? perfect for printing!) By simply flipping your print and leaving ample room for your address and stamp, you can send all of your holiday greetings in no time flat.
I'm a procrastinator by nature so the days and weeks leading up to the holiday season are often a complete mess of chaotic attempts to restore some order to my life! I chose to design a digital postcard for New Years rather than Christmas. The bonus to sending a New Years card is that it allows you a little extra time to get them mailed out AND extends the holiday season for your recipients who may be suffering from a bit of post-holiday doldrums after the 25th. I went for a little self-effacing comedy but you can go elegant or graphic or traditional in your own designs. Consider using a family portrait from the holiday season on your card!

To join in the postcard challenge, simply upload your postcard design to the gallery by December 2nd. The winner will be announced on the Education message board. Any holiday design is acceptable - New Years isn't necessary…as long as it's in postcard format, you're good to go :) Be sure to check the corresponding challenge box as well so we don't miss any of them! And if you're not interested in going the digital route, consider designing a card with traditional cardstock and scanning to upload to your favorite photo processor for mass quantity postcard printing!
Whatever you do, make sure to have fun. Can't wait to see your designs!
