Project - 365/Everyday : The Best Time
This was something that my Father in Law said to me one afternoon in the last year, after we had been discussing how busy Jeffrey and I are with our children and their activities. He said this to me quietly, aside from everyone else, in a a lull in the conversation, with a quiet solemnity to his voice. And it really struck me. I don't think I will ever forget it. This later half of the year, with the new school year and a round of new activities clouding our schedule, I tried very hard to remember this in the back of my mind…. “this is the best time of your life with them, and you just don't know it yet”
I wanted to keep this layout simple. Very simple. I printed out at least a dozen more photos to use, and realized that I really didn't want to use them. I didn't want to cloud this layout with embellishments or patterns or colors. I wanted it to be white, with a little touch of color on the edges, and let the colors of the photos shine and speak.
I printed the photos through iPhoto, using the contact sheet feature, so that they were all the same size. I did this 2 different times— I told you I printed out a lot more photos than I used– I printed 2 sheets, each with a different size. I edited all the photos on my iPhone, (sending them there through the iCloud Photo Stream)to make sure that they all looked the same, and had the same filter on them.
The only embellishments on this layout are the enamel dots from My Minds Eye, some wood pieces from Studio Calico, a sticker or 2, and arrow I cut with the Cameo ( I cut a whole sheet at once and just keep them for random use!) and some white paint that I dropped around the photos.
I cut the title with the Silhouette Cameo. My first title cut! I just used the fonts that are available, nothing special. I wanted it to be all the same color, though, I did use a Thicker sticker that just happened to be the same color as the cardstock for the word Time. I wanted it to stand out a bit more. Otherwise, I wanted the title to be uniform.
A rather simple layout about my everyday.
