Clouds as a design element are one of those new trends that has arisen over the last year, like owls and butterflies. And its one that I can't resist. Clouds are everywhere, stickers, papers, die cuts, etc. I am not sure what it is about them that I love, but I do know that I love the feeling of a aqua or lt blue colored paper, with a pattern of white clouds on it.

These papers on this layout are some of my favorites.... 2 of them are from American Crafts, one from My Minds Eye.

Borders and border stickers are also really trendy right now. Edge punches, simple edge die cuts, edges from papers, border papers. I included several of those elements on this layout. A punched edge, a hand cut edge and a border sticker. I admit all the time to being what I call a lazy scrapbooker. I love stickers, because its fast, and easy. Which is why I love the Doodlebug border stickers. I love the loops in particular. We also have a similar design in a border punch from Martha Stewart for when I don't want the glittery bright colors of the Doodlebug stickers.

Along with this is my love for Letter Stickers.

Every week I will pick a letter sticker set as one of my picks.

I love the Basic Grey letter stickers. I love this font, they have used it for a long time. I love that it comes in 2 colors, and each color has 2 sizes on one sheet. Its great for mixing it up.
You can also count on paper always being in my weekly picks. I already talked about the cloud papers, but also on my list this week is the paper pads from K & Company. The one that I use the most right now is the Girl Scout one. The rainbow stripe paper is from that pad. But I also used the Greenhouse one, as well as an older travel one on this layout. What I like about these is that there is always some hidden treasure that I discover. Its not usually the theme that grabs my attention. Its the patterns and colors. The papers are always double sided, and there is always 2 or more of each sheet in each paper pad. I am a B-side paper user. More than half the time, its the back side of a patterned paper that I use in my layouts. This is also true of the papers that come from the K & Co paper pads.

About this layout in particular: the title does not really match the colors, patterns and feel of the layout. I did that on purpose. Its meant to be the opposite of the definition of Emo.I also ran one of the borders, the rainbow one that I punched through my sewing machine. I had a dark pink thread in it, with a bigger zig zag stitch set. Which worked out great for this layout.

I love this layout with the cloud paper! Love the big aqua polka dots too - is that a Heidi Swapp paper?
