This is a story I'm really happy to have captured in my scrapbook! I found these two pieces of art, from the same company, at two different thrift stores, over 3 years apart. TFL!
Journaling: “On a recent day of thrift store shopping, we had no luck finding display pieces for The Green Life (our day's goal), but Scott scooped up two plaid flannels (all he seems to wear these days) and I found a piece of art for our home. It's a batik horse and though I like the design and colors (and sweet price), the reason I so excitedly scooped it up, was its resemblance to a horse head batik piece I had thrifted a few years back.
Once home, I took the first piece off the wall, flipped it over and taaaaah-da… they're of the same origin: Han Palace Art Co. Ltd! They won't hang in the same room, as I'm not starting a horse collection, but I absolutely love that they are connected - both batik, both horses, both from the same company, both thrifted in L.A. over time.”
The labels point refer to the years - 2007 was the year the picture on the right was taken, and just now in 2010 was when I found the second, blue piece. Also, how cool is that background behind me in the ‘07 picture?! It’s the side of a restaurant and I love it!
