I think that there is a lot of flare happening that is IMO a bit much, but all in all I think they are pretty good. Like the pp said upping the contrast will make a big difference.
Did you use a lens hood? that can help reduce the amount of flair you have - unless that is what you were going for

IMO, the second is better, you have more detail and and contrast. I think with some more midtone contrast, your shot will rock!!

Ok, settings for the one where she's in the Union Jack t-shirt first:
50mm, 1.4 lens
ISO 200
f/3.2
1/125

then the one by the tree:
same lens
ISO 200
f/3.2
1/250
