Project - Themed Projects : Nicknames

For a long time, I've wanted to scrapbook a layout about all the nicknames we have for our daughter. When I envisioned the layout, I wanted to use different chipboard alphabets and stickers; however, making that happen would have been exhausting and created an unnecessary headache or two! :) Instead, I decide to create a hybrid layout!

I picked a loud and fun patterned paper from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey line, and used it as my color inspiration. I used a handwritten font with digital notebook paper for a playful layout that was easy on the brain - I simply colored and re-sized each nickname to fit in the space allowed. Easy, peasy. (No headaches required.) I kept the design fairly simple because the patterned paper and the different colored fonts are all ready very busy, but I did add a little twist by framing the journaling, title and photos with a cropped piece of Basic Grey Doilie. See that orange dotty border? That's a Doilie! (I trimmed the inside and the outside, so I could use those pieces on other layouts.) I attached the doilie and the notebook paper with layers of foam adhesive for visual depth.

And with that, all done. Nicknames thoroughly documented. :)
