Project - Summer Birthday Card by paperpilekitten posted 06/15/11 at 11:16 AM Galleries: Cardmaking This is a birthday card for my MIL, created with the Margarita line from American Crafts. I cut out elements from the papers and used dimensional foam tabs for a 3D effect. The brads I used for the cut-outs on the front page are mostly from American Crafts, but they're not in the shop anymore so I couldn't associate them. I also used jewel stickers to bling the cut-outs inside the card. My MIL loves the sea and sailing, so I made a pocket out of the paper with waves on it. Along with the birthday greeting, I put in a couple of tickets where I've drawn drinks and then a couple of brightly colored paper umbrellas to symbolize cool exotic summer drinks. As a birthday present, DH and I are going to treat her to drinks at a very stylish bar next time she comes to visit us. I also enclosed some streamers and a party blower. It's to create some party atmosphere, although we cannot be there on her actual birthday. Thank you for looking! :) |
