My 7-year-old and I been making Kiva loans for over a year now and I thought I'd document the process and our experience around it. October Afternoon (green), American Crafts (brown), and Collage Press (map) patterned papers; American Crafts Thickers; Bella Blvd globe sticker.

ETA: I've gotten a few peamails and comments about this so I'm adding the info here. Kiva is an online microlending organization (www.kiva.org). You can create a user account and make $25.00 loans to entrepreneurs all over the world (you choose who to lend to), most of whom are in less developed countries. The neat thing about Kiva is that as your loan gets paid back you can re-lend the same money to someone else. I look at it as a donation that you can give over and over again over time.
