created as a design team layout using the November Mindfulness kit by Scrapbooking at the Inside Out.
The die cut quote you see in the top left from Teresa Collin's Tell Your Story line really inspired me to choose these photos for one of my design team layouts this month.
The colors of the kit are actually aqua, white and pale oranges. But I showed how you can take a kit and make it work with photos that don't have those colors! The resistable paper by Pink Paislee matting my photo is stamped with navy ink. And I used the same navy ink pad to color the aqua chipboard Thickers. The "dictionary paper is also from the Tell Your Story line and has words like family, home, cherish, life and simple.
Words cannot begin to describe how moving the Sept.11th Memorial at the Art Museum in 2011 was to us.
When we arrived, just seeing the number of flags (one for each life lost) was overwhelming.
The only sound was a quiet flapping of the flags as a breeze blew around us. All of the visitors walked among the flags reading the labels on the poles with the names of the victims.
I think for the first time, Evan really understood what happened that day. And I felt a sadness for the families of those who lost loved ones because of such hatred.
Thanks for looking :)
