Project - Seasonal Layouts : {june 09} by thequeenofquirk posted 07/15/09 Galleries: Scrapbooking
We've been having a blast this summer, taking in every opportunity for some fun in the sun. We've really been exploring this little part of England that we live in and we've been having a wonderful time! :)

Nothing says summer like grass, blue skies and a bit of sunshine. So, that's the route I took for this layout. It's extremely simple, but with so many photos on there, I didn't want to get carried away. A little trick I learned a couple of years ago goes a long way in making digital stamps look more real, especially the ones that have that hand-painted or inked look. Try erasing a tiny line just where the paper ends. It will mimic what a stamp does in paper scrapping and give that much more depth to your layouts. Also, I love Michelle Underwood's little butterfly elements, but I like my butterflies to look like they've just landed on my page. :) It's so easy to creat that look! Simply duplicate your butterfly layer. On the bottom layer, change the color to black (I usually use the color overlay feature) and then use your Gaussian blur filter set at 13 pixels to blur the black layer a bit. Lower the opacity of the blurred layer to 30% or 20% and then move it slightly up and to the left or right depending on where you want your shadow to come from. It's that easy! :) Thanks for looking!
|
