LOVE it, Cindi! I know this technique as 'scrafitto' (sp?)--layering color & exposing the base layer by scraping selectively.
I may like this even better with the blue background. Very nice job!

Another try at a batik look. This one is much brighter. Instead of going over with a black wash, I colored the tulips with the same red, dandelion, yellow green and green as the last card, then completely colored over the tulips and stamped outlines with black crayon. Next I scraped away the black crayon to reveal the colors underneath. Lots of fun! Just like grade school! The background was created by taking color off a watercolor crayon with a wet brush and then painting.
I think this technique could also give a fun wood block print look.
