Fabulous card and such a great inspiration piece! Using the poppie stamp was a wonderful idea.

Wow! this is gorgeous! You've put the colors together in just the right proportion. Terrific card and soooo many inspirations. TFS

Great card and great description of the inspiration, as well as the techniques.

This is a beautiful card! Love the inspirations you shared with us and the papers are really neat!

Good job and TFS!

That watercolor paper is great. I think that polk dot paper was just waiting for you to pull out the poppy stamp. And I love all the sources of inspiration you had for this card.

Beautiful, great work with your scraps!!

I made this card for the HA August challenge to use only scraps on a card, and for the Olympic Challenge to make a card inspired by a flag.

All papers other than the yellow card itself are from my scrap box, which hasn't even seen the light of day in at least a month! The red watercolor paper has splotches of gold perfect pearls. I think I made it in a winterfest challenge? I stamped on a scrap of yellow polka dot paper just barely big enough to hold the flower image!

The layout, stamp and color scheme were inspired by the Belgian flag. I chose Belgium because my great grandparents immigrated from Belgium. I used vertical stripes of red, yellow and black inspired by the flag. The stamp was inspired by howdyheidi's ds's card. He put a poppy on his card. That reminded me of the poem “In Flanders Fields” whose first line is
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
The poem was written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae describing a battle field in Ypres, Belgium during World War I. You can read more about it here []

Stamp : Hero Arts Long Stem Flowers
