Project - Themed Projects : She Loves to Fly!

Paper Piecing! Loooooooove it! This theme was so much fun, really has me inspired to get all crafty and piece paper more often! I had so much fun with this page. It came together really well, which always makes me happy! lol I love love love this cloud paper by American Crafts. I think I am going to have to hoard some, it is so fun to play with!

My daughter's nickname since she was little little has been, ‘Lainey Bug’. A play on ‘Lady Bug’. Then sometimes it is shortened to ‘Bug’ hee heee! My username came from all of this too! ;) Anyhoo, this is why I chose to paper piece a lady bug for this layout.

The lady bug was suuuuuper easy to do too! I traced the bottom of one my glitter bottles for the bigger circle, then cut it out with scissors. Next, I cut the triangle shape out and placed patterned paper underneath. For the head, I used a circle punch and glued it all together. For the antennas I cut very very thin strips and glued them onto the background, and for the round ends, I punched holes using my smallest hole punch. Super easy! Oh yeah, and I freehand cut the circles on the wings. A normal sized hole punch probably would have worked great too… but I couldn't find mine!
