Project - DESIGN SCHOOL: the perfect end (repetition) by gluestickgirl posted 08/29/11 Galleries: Scrapbooking, Stamping Since I like to use a lot of varied bits and pieces on my layouts, I often turn to repetition to keep my pages looking cohesive. I repeat shapes and colors to help bring unity to all of the elements on my page. On this page, I kept to a simple color scheme, and repeated the dark blue (button, label, star accent) & bright green (stamped sentiments and brad) in three places each, to help draw the eye through the page. I also found that repeating a star motif (misted background, chipboard accents, punched label, patterned paper) helped to tie all of those elements together. If I had used a couple of stars, a heart or two and a butterfly, the page would seem more jumbled. Next time you find yourself stuck on a project, try repeating an element that's already on your page - you may find that it's the perfect touch to bring your layout together! |
