Project - Recipe for a Statue {HMITM 175 & CCG 198} by Debbi T posted 07/05/11 at 07:30 AM Galleries: Scrapbooking I made this for How Much Is Too Much [hmitm.blogspot.com]. The challenge is called "Stars and Stripes forever and we had to use elements that include stars and stripes, a flag or banner accent, and, playing off the date we're celebrating, July 4, 1776, we had to use: 7 brads, 4-word title, 1 photo, 7 labels, 7-sentence journaling, and 6 patterned papers. I combined this challenge with Color Combos Galore. I lightened my star patterned paper to match the blue in the palette by brushing it with gesso. This picture is from last year's 4th of July. I dug out lots of old stash to make my page, which is 8 x 8. Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, Scenic Route, 7 Gypsies, Sweetwater, Glitz Designs; Ephemera: Design Originals; Letter Stickers: American Crafts, Lily Bee; Die Cuts: My Mind's Eye; Journaling Spot: Making Memories; Labels: Jenni Bowlin, 7 Gypsies; Brads: Making Memories, Recollections, Sassafras Lass; Sticker: EK Success; Ink: ColorBox; Other: Stick pins, twine, buttons, pop dots |
