A layout created using some of Corrie's prompt from this week's 213 in 2013 video. I went with her prompts to customize your background, use dimensional embellishments and let go of the pressure. I wanted to use a pack of MME buttons for the dimensional embellishments and at first stressed about the placement but followed that with an “aha moment” of just let go and dump the whole pack on the page. I ended up using all but 4 of the button on the pack so now I am also excited to have used up my stash.
There was a thread on the forums about using older, grungy Basic Grey papers with today's brighter color schemes. I had previously created a page with older BG papers that I was happy with so I decided to analyze it and see what had made it worked. My “formula” was to create a custom background with bright gelatos and cream cardstock and use papers that really contrasted with each other. I repeated that again with this page and used the really bright Bubblegum and Watermelon gelatos, some Blitzen paper for the background, some navy June Bug, some green Urban Prairie and a small piece of older Echo Park Little Girl. I printed the digi photo mat made with Designer Digital elements and threw in an older Rhonna Farrer chipboard label.
I really loved how Shimelle's stamps were perfect for this layout about my dd's bad day that culminated a bad week. tfl!
