Project - Seasonal Layouts : Wedding Album

As it turns out, I happen to have a photo or two for our wedding theme! I've been meaning to compile a book that we could have printed for friends and family, and finally, here it is! I loved the style of the Sunshine Album by The Queen of Quirk – but its yellow accents weren't going to do any favours to our blue-accented wedding photos. Thankfully, it's super easy to change the colours of the pages and elements in the kit, so you can open it as yellow but change it to pretty much any colour you like!

Open the digital file in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and click on Image -> Adjustments -> Hue and Saturation.

Move the hue slider along to see all the different colours on the spectrum. The right blue for me was +153. Your colour will probably look quite bright at this point.

Move the saturation slider to see the different shades within the colour you have chosen. Moving the slider to the left will typically make your colour more subtle, which is a good match for the soft grey shades on this album kit. I moved the saturation slider to -32 for my pages.

If you want to match a specific photo, open the photo and your digital file so you can see both on the screen as you move the sliders. That way you can see that they match and not have to take a guess.

I opened all the files I planned to use from the album kit, altered their colour and used ‘Save As’ to create a new batch of blue album pages – that way I still have the yellow originals to use again in the future.

From there, use the template to drop your photos in place by pasting them in and moving the layer underneath the page template, then add extra embellishments if you like as well as your journaling. If this is your first album kit project, you'll be fine – there are clear instructions included in the download so you can follow them step by step to make your book!

Once you're happy with the pages, you're ready to upload the album to a printer and turn your digital work into a hardbound book for your coffee table.
