<p> When I create single page layouts, I like to start in the middle of the page and work out to the edges, and the same thing works for double layouts -- find something that can cross over the gap in the middle and I find the layout comes together more easily than trying to balance a symmetrical design.</p>
<p>The chipboard sets from Technique Tuesday are a great purchase if you love to stamp, ink or otherwise customise your elements.  The pack has tons of chipboard diecuts, from teeny to nearly the size of the full page, and they are all nested so the waste is very minimal.  Unlike most chipboard pieces, these are white with a porous surface, so you can add ink or dye to the surface and it will not change the colour the way brown chipboard can.  To create these patterned rings, I used Versamark ink and the BasicGrey stamps to ink the patterns, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  After it was cool, I sprayed Maya Mists onto the chipboard and removed the spray from the embossed pieces with a baby wipe.  The pieces are also easy to cut with regular scissors if you want to use them over the gap of the two page spread.</p>
