Project - Serious In A Photo by MemrieMare posted 08/10/11 at 11:55 AM Galleries: Scrapbooking I started with a full sheet of 12x12 light pink cardstock. I cut some yellow-orange and medium pink cardstock to layer over the light pink, as my background. Next I used my computer to print out two different-sized circles to use as a template for the concentric circles on my page. I used a pencil to draw the circles onto my page so I was able to erase afterward. For the outer circle, I used a masking/stamping technique to get the stamped circle images. My stamp image was a large rectangular stamp and not the circle I wanted, so I used a masking technique…meaning, I stamped my image through a hole I had punched in another sheet of paper, kind of like a stencil. To make the stencil, I punched a 1.25“ circle in a piece of tracing paper (or vellum would also work). I placed the tracing paper with the punched hole onto my scrapbook page, and since the tracing paper is transparent, I can easily place my punched hole where I want my stamped image to be. I sewed buttons onto my stamped circles using pink DMC floss. The inner circle was done using more DMC floss and more buttons. For my lettering, I simply stamped small alphabet stamps onto white cardstock and punched them out with a small 1/4” hole punch. |
