Project - Themed Projects : Heart on your Sleeve

I will never forget the first time that I came to Two Peas! I was on a pregancy expecting board and happened to open a message talking about scrapbooking and twopeasinabucket.com. I had been in scrapbooking stores with my oldest sister and bought a lot of things…but I just wasn't crazy about all the stickers and ‘cheesiness’ of it all.

I came to Two Peas and was just blown away! I went to the Garden and got soooo excited about the styles that were shown there - it wasn't cheesy - it was classy and artistic and soooo cool! December 13, 2001 - the day I found Two Peas - and the day - that quite honestly - changed my life. I placed a huge order full of fun, eclectic finds from the store and put it under the tree for Christmas. I was so excited to open up that package!

Since then, I've been to Two Peas probably every day - seriously! I didn't miss a day checking out the Peanut Gallery for years - and I never miss a Garden. Silly me - I know! :) The Garden Girls have been a huge inspiration to me - I've always looked up to them and admired their talent. Cathy Blackstone has always been a favorite of mine and I'm so sad that she isn't here anymore - but I wanted to lift a page of her's for this months theme. She always does the coolest stuff on her pages and it's such eye candy! I took her page with all the hearts and pretty much copied it! :) I loved it - and then I added the journaling and it kinda was ‘too much’ but it is what it is! My little guy truly carries his heart on his sleeve and I wanted to document that.

For my layout (Cathy's original layout is the second one), I die-cut a bunch of hearts with my Cricut and with heart punches out of various pieces of patterned paper. Some are on pop-dots, some are stamped on. I had fun playing with a lot of the FABULOUS new Hero Arts stamps! Yummy! I also added some Stickles Glitter Glue to some of the hearts, middle of flowers, etc. for some added sparkle. Lots of random sewing and basically - a bunch of randomness! :) :)

So, thanks to Cathy for always being such a huge inspiration to me through all the years at Two Peas. And to all the other Garden Girls, and all of you that have posted in the Peanut Gallery - thank you for sharing your talent with the world! :)
