Although my son with severe autism is nonverbal, he enjoys spelling & is proud of his work.
Journalling reads: <br>
“Although Graham cannot speak, he is very interested in words, especially food words. A favourite activity is choosing pictures from flyers & having workers cut them out. He then spells out the words with his letter stencils for the workers to print beside the glued photos. Graham knows many words (mostly related to food). There are only a few words which he mispells (chookies for cookies & hot dogo for pogos) His favourite nonfood word is Nintendo. (Some of his words are listed on the left.) Graham is very proud of his work. He likes to have it displayed on the walls of his bedroom where it can be enjoyed.”
