I have always wanted to start an art journal. The day after I finally decided to jump right in, I read about a FREE Arte Journal class by Suzi Blu. I am already enrolled in her Petite Dolls Beginner class and was just browsing other classes she offers. I came across the Art Journal that she “teaches” (if you can call it that), she really just explains what an art journal is all about and actually gives you “challenges” to journal. The first challenge is very difficult….at least for me. You are to write about all the things you are good at, things you can congratulate yourself on, that you like about yourself….believe me ….it's hard. Think about it for a minute. Anywhoooo….here is the front and back cover of my journal. It is made with a hard chipboard, 3-ring, 8x8 binder. I used a lot of paper scraps I had laying around. The journal says “Arte Journal” in the front…I cut out and popped up an Owl and placed two little circlular bead letters that say “Me” one bead for each eye. The book page I used is from an old classic. I circled the words “scared”, “alone”, and “riled” also placed clear epoxy stickers over the words to make them stand out…when you see it in person of course.
The back of the album has a piece of Heidi Swapp tape that says, “Venture Out” and rubons that say “believe” “happiness in this moment” “so proud.” I will share more as I journal.
Thanks for looking!
