This layout is for Color Combos Galore #166 and for the new ‘101 creative ways’ challenge (add dimension by using two sheets of the same patterned paper and raising some of the images with foam dots). The American Crafts paper with the leaves was perfect for the color combo, with the exception of dark blue leaves, which I covered up with embellishments and journaling. I used one sheet of the patterned paper and cut the additional leaves from the part I didn't use on the layout. It took me a few attempts to get the right shade of blue on the sky. I stamped it with acrylic paint which was applied by using a brayer. Then I used a piece of cut'n dry foam to wipe over the paint to create the illusion of a windy sky. Jennifer McGuire taught this textured paint technique in Holiday Thinking Inking. I stamped the clouds a few more times, cut out some of the clouds, dry embossed them and added Stickles. Then they were attached with foam tape. Sorry about all the uneven light and the shadows in the photo.

Journaling: ‘It is fun that your first outing to the sea was to our favourite beach. Grandma, you and me had a great day at the sea. It was the very first time you saw the sea and you were very fascinated, especially of the movement of the water and how the light played in the little waves. We walked for a long time in the shallow water and you were looking at the water the whole time.’ TFL!!
