Two it uses birds, always cute...
And three anything Tim Holtz is red hot right now.
this truly is a work of art.
May I ask what size the canvas is? Also the dimension of the flower? As you can tell I am in LOVE with this and so want to scraplift it~~~~!!!!!!

Project - WF11 Metal flower canvas

My first Winterfest 2011 project, so happy to be stamping! This canvas is for Jan's Dimension in Metal and Deborah's Say What challenges. I had so much fun making this metallic flower. I used aluminium tape adhered to cardstock for the silver parts, metallic mesh in both copper and silver and a sheet of copper. The flowers and leaves were die cut using Tim Holtz dies. I stamped a text stamp on the aluminium flowers and then embossed them and the copper flower and leaves using swirl, dot and number folders. The copper leaves and flower were painted black and then I wiped off some of the paint. All the layers were shaped a bit. The flower became so dimensional that I decided to put it on a little canvas. The canvas was painted with a wash of blue. The birds and the swirls were silver embossed, as was the butterfly on the brad. For the Say What challenge I used a sentiment that I really like. TFL!!
Supplies: Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages, Old Letter Writing; Artistic Outpost birds on a wire stamp; Stamper's Anonymous swirl stamp; Crafty Individuals butterfly stamp; copper sheet and mesh; MM metallic mesh; aluminium tape; Karen Foster brad; Anna og Clara's canvas.
