How cool is this! I love those trees. I adore the stamps you chose.
I love that technique! Thank you for explaining it. Your trees loook wonderful and the French knot flowers look wonderful. The fox is so cute, and the birds add a nice touch. Terrific card!

Project - WF11 Hangover - Sew Cute by Anna-Karin posted 03/20/11 at 06:42 AM Galleries: Stamping, Cardmaking This card is for the Winterfest Second Take Hangover Challenge, for the ‘Sew Cute’ cute challenge (stitching and a cute stamp). It is also for this months Hero Arts challenge (birthday theme). I was inspired to make my card look like a spring Birch forest with White Anemones covering the ground (common spring sight in Sweden). I tried a technique for the tree background that I read about on Stampersuzz's blog some months ago. The tree trunk stamp was inked with Versamark and then applied a Memento London Fog marker on the edges of the trunks. The trees were then clear embossed on glossy cardstock and I used the same marker to add colour to the trees. Really liked the effect. I used soft green shades of Memento and Distress Inks on the background. The White Anemones were made with French knots. The fox was coloured with pencils and odourless thinner, and so were the birds punched using a border punch. ‘Grattis’ means ‘Congratulations’ in Swedish. TFL!! Supplies: Hero Arts stamps: Tree Trunks, Fox, Printer's Lowercase; Distress Inks: Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint; Memento marker London Fog; Memento Ink: New Sprout, Pear Tart; Derwent pencils; DMC floss. |
